Pastor Reed Best was bron on March 13, 1958 in Lamoni Iowa, and is the youngest of four boys. His father was a minister in the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Renamed the Community of Christ in 2001). In 1987 Pastor Best was effectually called to saving faith and spent several years visiting various denominations until he visitined Grace Presbyterian Church, PCA where he met Dr. D. Randall Talbot, an ordained minister in the Reformed Presbyterian Church General Assembly (RPCGA). On July 31, 1990 Rev. Talbot was commissioned by Westminster Presbutery (RPCGA) to start a mission work in Ocala, Florida called Covenant Presbyterian Church. Pastor Best became one of the founding members. Eventually he was called to become a Church Governot (Ruling Elder). In 1995 he received his Bachelor of Divinity from Whitefield Theological Seminary. That same year he was ordained as a Gospel Minister of the RPCGA and called to be the Associate Pastor at Covenant Presbuterian Church. In 1996 he received a Master of Sacred Theology. In 1997 he started a mission work called Reformed Presbyterian Church of Ocala (RPCO). Pastor Best served on the Book of Church Order (BCO) committee for the RPCGA. He presently serves as the Stated Clerk of Westminster Presbytery and the Moderator of the General Assemply of the RPCGA. In 2014 he was honored with an honorary Doctor of Divity for service in the field of Administration and Leadership from Whitefield Theological Seminary.
